Stormy Monday showcases feature the power of language to evoke mood and drama. Spoken word, roots music and art entertain and enlighten.The show is centered around creativity, language and the power of claiming our freedom of expression. Mini-portraits (drawn in the moment) are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Each month includes special guests, in a variety of performance mediums.

Kai Love: Kai Love is a musical force to be reckoned with, often compared to Jill Scott because of her powerful vocal range and stage presence, songwriting skills, and infusion of spoken word. She was awarded "Best Album 2016" for Little Star by the National Poetry Awards. Her music spans genres, but is rooted in soul. She is able to capture audiences in small or large settings and definitely leaves a lasting musical impression on stage. Whether performing acappella, with a DJ and tracks, or with her travel band, Kai Love, offers a transformative musical entertainment experience for all.

The series is curated by Hannah Frank and Hannah Frank Group. The original music group combines folk, blues, storytelling and intrigue. Instrumentation ranges from a Native American gathering drum to rhythmic gypsy-blues guitar. The group, featuring Victor Sanders (electric guitar), Meg Thomas (percussion), Ben E. Miller (bass), has released two EPs and has performed at House of Blues Chicago, Mayne Stage and other fine venues.
